Savannah’s Sr Pics

0

After a few months of communication with Savannahs mother, we finally were able to schedule a session.   During the session I learned that I was photographing the busiest teenage in the world.  I now realize now why it was difficult to schedule her photo session.  We were fortunate to have decent weather during Savannah’s photo session.   Winter weather returned during the few days following.   We agreed to meet at Weymouth Center in Southern Pines, NC.  Upon arrival I noticed that some tree removal was in process.  With the heavy equipment on the grounds, plenty of photography locations remained for us to use.  Best of luck to Savannah during her college career.

Kaitlin and Ryan’s Engagement Session

0

I’m looking forward to Kaitlin and Ryan’s May 2013 wedding day. If there engagement session is any indication of the fun that they will have on their wedding day, I would hate not to be a witness.  I photographed Kaitlin’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and remember the family very well.  Fun was had by all, including the photographer.  I enjoy seeing people have a good time and I have no doubt that Kaitlin and Ryan’s wedding day will be very similar.

Congratulations to Boz and Jaime

0

It had been a few years since I visited Wallace Lodge in Laurinburg, N.C.  I was happy to find out that Jaime and Boz chose Wallace Lodge as their wedding and reception venue.  The website describes the location: “… nestled in the middle of 150+ acres surrounded by wildlife and nature.”  This is very correct.   The drive into the woods to the lodge is scenic and basically untouched.   Jaime and Boz’s decorations at the lodge kept with the outdoors theme and represented nature in many ways. It didn’t take long for the guest to fill the building just before the couple met to read their vows.  Witnessing a couple read their personalized wedding vows is always a touching moment.   Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves during dinner and dancing.  Even though that this was a December wedding, the weather was not too cold to prevent us from capturing several photo outdoors.  I wish Jaime and Boz a wonderful future together.

Congratulations to Cheanna and Brandon

0

I remember the spring evening when I received the first call from Cheanna concerning her wedding photography needs.  I could tell in her tone that she was excited about getting married in November.   The fact the her wedding venue recommended me, my website appeared first in her online search and I was planning to be visiting near her Wedding location during the wedding date was all of the confirmation that Cheanna needed to select me as her photographer.  I enjoyed the meeting with Cheanna during the following eight months and my excitement grew as the big day grew near.  As expected the wedding ceremony was great.  I have to compliment the musician and vocalist who performed during the ceremony.   They were both very good.  After a great session of formals we traveled to Pinehurst to the Fair Barn to proceed with the reception.  The decorations and food were very good as was expected.  I was impressed with the many toasts and wonderful words that family and friends had to say about the newlyweds.  The planning was very successful and I wish Cheanna and Brandon a very happy future together.

The Brinks family at OBX

0

During a visit to the Outerbanks of North Carolina is was out during sunset capturing the clouds of a storm moving to the north.  The wind was swift, but helped keep the storm away and let the sun peep in and out of the clouds.  As I had my tripod positioned on a dock a gentleman approached me to ask question about photography.  After a brief introduction and conversation about my setup he asked if I would be willing to shoot some photos of his children.  Unfortunately it was too dark and I didn’t have my flash set up with me at the time.  However, we made plans to meet the next morning for some photos on the beach.   I was more than happy to spend some time shooting beach portraits of this family from Richmond VA.

Brandie and Houston

0

Brandie and Houston drove from Greensboro one evening for their photos session.  We met in Downtown Hamlet to shoot some couples photos for them.  While we shooting some random shots on a set of railroad tracks a freight train slowly approached us and stopped.  this could not have happened at a better time as if we had ordered it for the photo session.   I enjoyed working with the couple and look forward to working with them in the future.

Lenea and Wade’s Production.

0

For as long as I have know Lenea she has had a love for the stage and a variety of live entertainment.  Participating on the technical side of numerous events made Lenea want to produce her own wedding in similar fashion. Participants, costumes, lighting and sound are just a few of the elements of a live show.    Lenea and Wade applied similar elements to their wedding.  They were the characters of their own production on stage with special lighting and sound.  It was a great show that continued to the reception hall.  The time and effort appeared to be worth every minute.  Congratulations to you both!

Congratulations to Katie and Kyle.

0

As with normal engaged couples Kyle and Katie had been planning her wedding for several months.  I spent time with Katie on a few occasions to discuss plans for the big day and it was obvious that she was very excited  about having an outdoor wedding in her hometown of Pinehurst.  One evening I received and email from Katie that they had to change the wedding date due to a request from the venue wanting to plan a Vince Gill Benefit concert.  Fortunately, Katie had not sent out invitations and they agreed to change their wedding to the following evening.  I was impressed that they agreed to wait one more day to allow the concert to be scheduled.  In exchange for changing the date, Katie and Kyle were treated to V.I.P. seating and Vince Gill acknowledged the couple during the concert.  What a great evening prior to your big day!   The threat of rain the following day didn’t slow anyone down and clouds moved past allowing for a wonderful ceremony and reception.  I had a great time working with Katie and Kyle as well as their families during the day.  Best wishes to the newlyweds!

Cottle Family

0

I was happy to receive a call from the Cottle family requesting my services to photograph their family.   I find it interesting to watch newborn twins interact with each other.  Little Emma also got a chance to do her own thing whole being photographed.  As with most children, she had a lot of energy and lead me around the playground without any time to stop and catch my breath.  Best wished to the young Cottle family.

Cooke Kids

0

I had the pleasure to spend some time photographing the Cooke kids during a beautiful spring morning in Southern Pines.  We met at Weymouth Gardens and despite the fact that it was a bit damp out from rain the day before we managed to use the facility to get some nice photos for them to share.  Young Ian warmed up to the camera quickly and provided some great poses.  It was nice working with the Cooke family.

Elise Senior Photo Session

0

I had the privilege of meeting Elise and her family in Cheraw South Carolina one evening to shoot Elise’s Senior photos.   Downtown Cheraw has several beautiful areas that we used.   It was interesting to me that Elise was an Audrey Hepburn fan and wanted to use a poster during her photo shoot.

A brave mother.

0

In my opinion, it takes a brave mother to wake up two boys early on a Sunday morning, dress them in white pants and expect them to stay clean during a photo shoot.  Sabrina managed to pull this task off and still make it to church on time.  Both boys, considering the time of day were full of energy and had a good time playing outside.

Spring Photos – Emma stole the show.

0

This was one of the first 2011 spring photo sessions for me.  Once cute, little Emma got warmed up to the camera it was on!  She  provided some great poses as well as candid opportunities for me to photograph.  We had a wonderful day for pics and thanks to Rita for calling me to shoot more photo for her.  I love repeat customers!  I look forward to the BIG family photo shoot.

Congratulations to Sandy and Cameron!

Sandy and Cameron’s wedding was a traditional Irish wedding with bagpipes and just the right amount of green.  The theme continued at the reception hall with beautiful decorations and the first dance music performed on bagpipes.  This was a great way for me to  start the 2011 wedding season! Cameron and Sandy had a wonderful ceremony and reception. Best wishes to you both!!

Senorita Jami

This photo shoot is one of my favorite type to schedule.  We started just as the sun was beginning to set and move fast to get as many shots and poses as possible.  I enjoy the golden light that is provided from the setting sun.  I also like shooting against the sunset and capturing some natural backlighting.    I usually have a list of poses at various areas within walking distance in my head as we begin the photo shoot.  Jami gave some great moves and kept up with me like she knew what I was going to direct next.

Almost Perfect.

0

We chose one of the first warm days of the winter season for this outdoor photo shoot of the band, Almost Perfect.  Four guys hanging out talking and joking with my flash units popping around them was probably entertaining for the wildlife out that day.  I know musicians and not all groups have the family vibe that these guys do.  This, in my opinion,  confirms that the group on stage is well worth the cover charge.  I look forward to the next photo shoot with these guys playing their favorite tunes for the fans.

Hillary and Monroe

0

Hillary and Monroe contacted me about shooting photos of them for their parents Christmas present.   We had to keep things on the down low and chose to meet at Weymouth Gardens in Moore County.  The fact that this took place late fall, the gardens are still beautiful and offered a good assortment of areas for us to use.  The lack of blooming plants and warm air didn’t prevent people from visiting the gardens.  Several people were walking pets and two other photo sessions were also taking place.  Hillary and Monroe are a great sister/brother combo and I enjoyed working with them.    Since Christmas, I have had the chance to visit their father’s office and view several photos from this session around his desk.

Hannah stay!!

Hannah loves to fetch a tennis ball.  She loves it so much that she would fetch 24/7 if someone was willing to throw the ball all of the time.  She is very patient in waiting for the ball to be thrown.  This allowed me to capture the pics below.
