After meeting with Amanda and Robert a few times, exchanging emails and several phone calls, I was looking forward to being part of their big day. Amanda and Robert chose a wonderful location or their wedding ceremony. The Hayloft in McLeansville, N.C. is a working farm that also hosts weddings and receptions. Although Hurricane Sandy had passed by the area a day prior, the conditions were near perfect for photography. Besides a few gusts of wind and a bit cooler than wanted temps, the day appeared to proceed as planned. Everyone was on time, the guests were very pleasant and there was a wedding coordinator handling the schedule. I enjoyed watching the family and friends hangout and enjoy the celebration. My favorite part of the day may have been the toasts. I enjoy the stories that people tell about the bride and groom during the receptions. i wish the best for Amanda and Robert.
I was happy to visit the Beck family again to capture some Christmas photos for them. Several weeks ago I captured some photos of their newborn and this time the entire family was to participate in a few shots.
I met with the Coldwell Banker ladies one evening at the studio to shoot some photos for their company Christmas card and current head shots for promotional materials. Millions of ideas were thrown around as suggestions during their photo session. We got a nice collection of group photos.
Another warm fall day offered me the opportunity to photograph the Smith children outside around the Leak Wall Home and Gardens.
The Robert’s family has provided many first opportunities for Jimmy McDonald Photography during the past several years. I was happy to have my first studio session with baby Shelby. She seemed to have a great time and provided many poses for me.
Miranda and her friend Heather met me at leak Wall House to shoot senior portrait. This wasn’t Miranda’s first photo session. She has also been photographed for a national teen magazine and didn’t need much direction to throw out some great poses for me. The wind from the recent hurricane provided some good hair movement for some of the pics.
I was please to hear from Boyce (Fuzz) a few months ago concerning photography needs for his wedding. I grew up in the church where the wedding was to take place. I was excited to shoot photos of Fuzz and Brenda’s ceremony in the location where I spent most of my childhood life. The ceremony was great and I enjoyed spending time with so many people that I had not seen in a long time. Visiting my old church brought back many memories of youth group as well as the very first wedding I attended. Best wishes to Fuzz and Brenda.
Bobby and Chris provided a location for their friend Ashleigh’s senior photo session. While we were on a wardrobe change break, I convinced the couple to let me shoot a few pics of them together. I was appreciated of their assistance during the senior session.
The session was the second photo shoot for Nathan. I was amazed at how much he had grown during the past four months. Nathan was very alert of everything raking place around him. It was interesting to watch him look around and study the other people around us. Some of Nathans relatives also joined in for a few shots during the session. I look forward to the next photo session in a few months.
We had a beautiful summer day to shoot Hailey’s senior portraits. Hailey was very calm and chose great colors for her wardrobe. We moved at a steady pace and were able to cover three locations before the sun disappeared.
Shelby Grace is one of the upcoming models that I have been shooting for a year. She may not realize that she is a model, but when she gets older and see all of the photos of her she will figure things out. One thing I have learned over the years while shooting kids is as they get older, they get faster! Shelby led me around for over an hour playing with anything she could reach or pickup.
Sherrie called be to shoot a few promo pics for her for being awarded a new BMW as National Sales Director for Visalus Sciences. I enjoy having a large prop, such as a car to use during a photo session. We also took the time to get some shot of her and her husband Brian, who is also very knowledgeable about the Visalus products. The looked great, Brian and Sherrie looked great and this made it easy for me to produce some nice photos for them.
During Stephanie’s maternity photo session, I was entertained by the “busy-ness” of their little girl. She had tons of energy and was one step ahead of everyone else. Fortunately she allowed a few interruptions in her busy afternoon to let me get her in a few shots. Congratulations to the Allen family on their new addition.
I had the opportunity to schedule a photo session with the Rockingham Exit Realty team for future promotional materials. It was immediately obvious to me that this group of men and women were busy and had limited time with me. Regardless of taking them away from their normal schedules, they had a great time and kept me entertained while I was shooting their photos.
