Tyler came to the studio Yesterday to have his cap and gown pics made. This was a short session, approximately 15-20 minutes. The guys prefer it this way and I don’t waste time getting several poses.
The cap and gown session fee is $15.00. I’ll photograph up to 5 different cap & gown poses. The proofs will be posted online for print and CD photo file purchasing. The CD ($35.00) will contain a high resolution file of all of the poses with copyright release for printing. You will need your own cap & gown set with applicable club sashes and stoles. Please call or email to schedule an appointment.
This was Aubrey’s third session with me. She has always been very calm and provided some great posing for me. As kids get older and comfortable with the camera I can capture more and more moments. Aubrey was very entertaining and her personality shows in many of the photos. This session was just prior to her 2nd birthday. As usual, it was a pleasure to work with Aubrey and her family. Happy Birthday!!!
I’m looking forward to Kaitlin and Ryan’s May 2013 wedding day. If there engagement session is any indication of the fun that they will have on their wedding day, I would hate not to be a witness. I photographed Kaitlin’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and remember the family very well. Fun was had by all, including the photographer. I enjoy seeing people have a good time and I have no doubt that Kaitlin and Ryan’s wedding day will be very similar.
Photos make great gifts. Call or email to schedule your photo session.

During a visit to the Outerbanks of North Carolina is was out during sunset capturing the clouds of a storm moving to the north. The wind was swift, but helped keep the storm away and let the sun peep in and out of the clouds. As I had my tripod positioned on a dock a gentleman approached me to ask question about photography. After a brief introduction and conversation about my setup he asked if I would be willing to shoot some photos of his children. Unfortunately it was too dark and I didn’t have my flash set up with me at the time. However, we made plans to meet the next morning for some photos on the beach. I was more than happy to spend some time shooting beach portraits of this family from Richmond VA.
Hlee contacted me several weeks ago requesting that I mentor her during her Senior school project. After finding out about her topic and research I was happy to say “yes” and make arrangements to begin working with her. Her project of comparing the tones and reactions between color and black and white photos sounded interesting to me. After reading her initial report I could tell that Hlee had spend some time working on this project. We planned several meeting to discuss various photos, shooting procedures and techniques. Hlee also made herself available to assist me with several photo sessions to pick up some pointers in preparation for her project photos. The session with her as the model allowed her to be in front of the camera while I explained, in detail, various methods for obtaining the desired photos. We still have more work to do as Hlee finalizes her presentation and I look forward to seeing the final product.
Kierstan met me at Hamlet Depot one evening to pose for her Senior Portraits. The days leading to this day were very warm and comfortable. However, the night before saw a cold front move in and it brought wind with it. Regardless of the unpleasant conditions, Kierstan hung in there and followed direction without any complaints. We were fortunate to be able to enter the Depot to warm up and capture a few additional shots.
Brandie and Houston drove from Greensboro one evening for their photos session. We met in Downtown Hamlet to shoot some couples photos for them. While we shooting some random shots on a set of railroad tracks a freight train slowly approached us and stopped. this could not have happened at a better time as if we had ordered it for the photo session. I enjoyed working with the couple and look forward to working with them in the future.
Cooler weather is trying to creep in and the McElrath photo session was scheduled in the studio to prevent us from freezing on this cold evening. I enjoyed working with this family.
This family photo session was our second attempt to get together due to thunderstorms that appeared on the first date. I think that it worked out for the best and allowed the grass to grow a little bit higher and greener for the outdoor shots that we captured during this session. I never know what to expect when a small child is placed in front of the camera. In this case, I had full cooperation from everyone! Following the brief family session, we proceeded with senior portraits for the two oldest. Their blogs will follow…
The session was the second photo shoot for Nathan. I was amazed at how much he had grown during the past four months. Nathan was very alert of everything raking place around him. It was interesting to watch him look around and study the other people around us. Some of Nathans relatives also joined in for a few shots during the session. I look forward to the next photo session in a few months.
Little A’s grandmother called to make an appointment for me to shoot some photos of her grand daughter while she was visiting Rockingham recently. When she requested a background with water in it, Hinson Lake was my first choice. Little A was very quiet, shy and cooperative. She had a a very cute grin and was willing to move around and pose while we walked. The early morning walk was very refreshing and I am glad to have captured the photos requested.
We had a beautiful summer day to shoot Hailey’s senior portraits. Hailey was very calm and chose great colors for her wardrobe. We moved at a steady pace and were able to cover three locations before the sun disappeared.

For as long as I have know Lenea she has had a love for the stage and a variety of live entertainment. Participating on the technical side of numerous events made Lenea want to produce her own wedding in similar fashion. Participants, costumes, lighting and sound are just a few of the elements of a live show. Lenea and Wade applied similar elements to their wedding. They were the characters of their own production on stage with special lighting and sound. It was a great show that continued to the reception hall. The time and effort appeared to be worth every minute. Congratulations to you both!
As with normal engaged couples Kyle and Katie had been planning her wedding for several months. I spent time with Katie on a few occasions to discuss plans for the big day and it was obvious that she was very excited about having an outdoor wedding in her hometown of Pinehurst. One evening I received and email from Katie that they had to change the wedding date due to a request from the venue wanting to plan a Vince Gill Benefit concert. Fortunately, Katie had not sent out invitations and they agreed to change their wedding to the following evening. I was impressed that they agreed to wait one more day to allow the concert to be scheduled. In exchange for changing the date, Katie and Kyle were treated to V.I.P. seating and Vince Gill acknowledged the couple during the concert. What a great evening prior to your big day! The threat of rain the following day didn’t slow anyone down and clouds moved past allowing for a wonderful ceremony and reception. I had a great time working with Katie and Kyle as well as their families during the day. Best wishes to the newlyweds!
