Martha + Jay

I was excited to learn that Martha and Jay were planning a masquerade reception.  I was also excited that the party was going to be in one of the historical homes in Rockingham.  Tons of preparation took place in order for this to happen and the entire evening seemed to come together as planned.   The ceremony was beautiful and the guests participated in the masquerade reception as requested.   It was fun to watch through the cameras.

Aubrey’s Two Years Old!

0

This was Aubrey’s third session with me.  She has always been very calm and provided some great posing for me.  As kids get older and comfortable with the camera I can capture more and more moments.  Aubrey was very entertaining and her personality shows in many of the photos. This session was just prior to her 2nd birthday.   As usual, it was a pleasure to work with Aubrey and her family.  Happy Birthday!!!

Kaitlin and Ryan’s Engagement Session

0

I’m looking forward to Kaitlin and Ryan’s May 2013 wedding day. If there engagement session is any indication of the fun that they will have on their wedding day, I would hate not to be a witness.  I photographed Kaitlin’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and remember the family very well.  Fun was had by all, including the photographer.  I enjoy seeing people have a good time and I have no doubt that Kaitlin and Ryan’s wedding day will be very similar.

Tabitha’s Senior Portrait Session

Tabitha’s mother made arrangement for us to meet The Bostick Schoolhouse to shoot a few pics. I was surprised at the number of items available inside the old schoolhouse.  The renovations inside and out are amazing.  The restored building provided many great opportunities for us to photograph Tabitha. We also took advantage of the area to shoot some pics at an old family church as well as a barn and pond located on family property.  We wrapped up the afternoon of photos at my studio for a few additional shots including cap and gown photos.

Clark Family

We had a beautiful to shoot portraits for this wonderful family.   The girls seemed to enjoy themselves during the session.

Katy and Family

When discussing Katy’s senior photo session, she described her family as a circus of fun.  She is correct!  I was entertained during the entire photo session and had a great time.  It’ nice to have conversation while shooting and moving from one location to another.  Katy was specific about having photos taken with her family and even grandma smiled.   Katy is lucky to be a part of such a loving family.

Autumn’s Last Storm – Hinson Lake

0

Another photography goal has been met. Our State Magazine selected one of my photos for their Tar Heel Image page of the November 2012 issue.

Hinson Lake is a beautiful place and I shoot portrait and landscape photos frequently at this location.  I was lucky to catch this scene on a cloudy day.  It’s one of my favorite landscape photos and have a print of this pic hanging in my office. This photo was submitted for the annual photo contest but didn’t win. However, I was excited when Our State contacted me in September wanting to use the photo in the November issue.

Our State is my favorite magazine and I’ve wanted to see one of my photos printed in this publication for a long time.  My next goal will be to earn an assignment from Our State.

This scene and various others are available for print purchasing from my Website.

Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham Kick-Off Celebration

Scheduled to open in early 2013, Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham is a children’s museum that will serve children and their caregivers from throughout the Sandhills/South Central Piedmont region of North Carolina.

The new 20,000 square foot Museum will be a community-based, educational resource for children ages 0 -10 and a centerpiece of downtown Rockingham. Through rich learning experiences highlighting exploration, imagination and fun, Discovery Place KIDS will promote growth in language, cognition and mathematics while fostering curiosity and building confidence.

“It’s a great feeling to join with our friends in the Sandhills to commemorate what we have achieved so far together and to celebrate the start of construction on Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham,” said John Mackay, president and CEO of Discovery Place, Inc. “Before you know it, we will be opening the doors on a new era of possibilities for the children of this region and much of the credit for that goes to the diligence, generosity and hospitality of the people who live here.”
